Used GMC Sierra 1500 Engine
Used OEM engines for the GMC Sierra 1500. Depending on the year, the Sierra 1500 was offered with the 4.3L V6, the 4.8L, 5.3L and 6.0L Vortec V8s, the 6.2L V8, and in newer trucks the 2.7L turbo four and 3.0L Duramax diesel. Many share a displacement across years but differ in cylinder deactivation, direct injection and wiring, so we match the engine to your VIN using the RPO engine code, confirm the mileage in writing before you pay, and ship it free by liftgate freight in 7β14 business days.

Frequently asked questions
The 8th character of your VIN identifies the engine, and the three-character RPO code on the glove box or console label confirms it. Send us the VIN and we match the exact engine, not just the displacement.
Not always. The 2014 and newer 5.3L uses direct injection and is a different engine from earlier 5.3L Vortec V8s, and some years have Active Fuel Management or Dynamic Fuel Management while others do not. A wrong-year engine can mean wiring, computer and accessory problems, so we match by VIN.
Lifter and cylinder deactivation problems can sometimes be repaired. If the camshaft, lifters and cylinder walls are damaged, a used OEM engine with known mileage is often the more practical repair. Have your mechanic diagnose it first.
Yes. Every used engine comes with our 3-year parts warranty on major internal components when installed by an ASE certified mechanic. Full terms are on our Terms & Warranty page and on your written quote.
