Used Mercedes-Benz S-Class Transmission
Used OEM automatic transmissions for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, including the W220 S430 and S500 (2000β2006) and the W221 S550 (2007β2013). The W220 cars use the 5-speed automatic (722.6) and the W221 S550 moved to the 7-speed 7G-Tronic (722.9), and rear-wheel drive and 4MATIC versions use different units. We match the transmission to your VIN, confirm the mileage in writing before you pay, and ship it free by liftgate freight with a 3-year parts warranty.

Frequently asked questions
No. The W220 S430/S500 and the W221 S550 use different transmissions (5-speed 722.6 vs 7-speed 722.9), and 4MATIC all-wheel-drive cars use a different unit than rear-wheel-drive cars. AMG and V12 models also use their own versions. Send us your VIN and we will match a transmission built for your exact car.
On the 7-speed 722.9 used in the W221 S550, the transmission control unit is built into the transmission, so a shop with a Mercedes-capable scan tool should code or adapt it to your car after installation. On the older 5-speed cars, ask your mechanic to reset the transmission adaptations so it shifts smoothly.
Use the Mercedes-Benz approved ATF specified for your transmission (the 722.6 and 722.9 use different MB approval numbers), not a generic universal fluid. Your mechanic should also flush or replace the cooler lines during the install.
Yes. Every used transmission comes with our 3-year parts warranty on major internal components when installed by an ASE certified mechanic. Full terms are on our Terms & Warranty page and on your written quote.
