Used Pontiac Torrent Engine
Used OEM V6 engines for the Pontiac Torrent, built for the 2006β2009 model years. Most Torrents use the 3.4L pushrod V6, while the 2008β2009 Torrent GXP uses a 3.6L V6 with dual overhead cams. These engines are completely different, so we match the engine to your VIN, confirm the mileage in writing before you pay, and ship it free by liftgate freight with a 3-year parts warranty.

Frequently asked questions
If your Torrent is a GXP it has the 3.6L V6; other Torrents have the 3.4L V6. The 8th character of your VIN is the engine code, so the surest way is to send us the full VIN and we will match the exact engine.
We do not recommend it. The 3.6L uses a different engine design, mounts, wiring and engine computer, so it is not a bolt-in swap. Replacing your engine with the same type your vehicle came with keeps the install simple and the warranty valid.
Ask your mechanic to replace the thermostat, check the water pump and radiator, and start with fresh oil, filter and coolant. On the 3.4L, coolant leaks are a common reason engines fail, so the cooling system should be in good shape before the replacement goes in.
Yes. Every used engine comes with our 3-year parts warranty on major internal components when installed by an ASE certified mechanic. Full terms are on our Terms & Warranty page and on your written quote.
