No. The 3.6R uses a heavier-duty CVT than the 2.5i, and the two are not interchangeable. Your VIN tells us the engine and the exact transmission your Legacy needs.
Not as a direct swap. The CVT was updated for the 2015 redesign, with changes to programming and connections. We match the transmission to your VIN so it fits your model year.
Fill it with the correct Subaru CVT fluid to the proper level, check the transmission cooler and lines, and confirm all four tires are the same size and tread depth, since uneven tires strain the all-wheel-drive system. A scan tool may be needed to complete a relearn after installation.
