Frequently asked questions
No. The all-wheel-drive Sienna uses a transmission with a transfer assembly that drives the rear wheels, so it is a different unit from the front-wheel-drive version even in the same year. Your VIN tells us the drivetrain, and we confirm the exact unit in writing before you pay.
Toyota changed the Sienna transmission several times: a 4-speed, then a 5-speed, a 6-speed and an 8-speed automatic. Mounting points, wiring and computer programming change with each one, so a unit from a different year range usually will not bolt in or work correctly. Matching by VIN avoids that.
Harsh or delayed shifts, slipping, flare between gears or a flashing warning light can come from low or burnt fluid, a sensor or a solenoid as well as internal damage. Have your mechanic check the fluid and scan for codes first. If the transmission is damaged inside, a used OEM unit with confirmed mileage is usually the most practical repair.
Yes. Every used transmission comes with our 3-year parts warranty on major internal components when installed by an ASE certified mechanic. Full terms are on our Terms & Warranty page and on your written quote.
